First African Methodist Episcopal Church

First AME Church would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of support and extraordinary gesture of kindness to our church family and the greater Seattle community in the wake of the horrific shooting and massacre at our sister church, Mother Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina.

 

We have received countless letters, emails, cards, baked goods and flowers left on our doorsteps. To date, we have received more than $10,000 for Mother Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina. All the moneys have been sent to and received by the church in South Carolina. A heartfelt thanks to those who participated in the Vigil, June 18, the March for Solidarity with Charleston Nine, July 7, and the Round-table Dialogue on Race that followed on July 11, 2015. You came from far and near and we are grateful!

 

FAME Church, along with the United Black Clergy and the Inter-Faith Community and Civic leaders will remain on the path of bringing healing and unity to our community. We will continue to host and convene community dialogues on race, hate crimes, social and economic equity and justice. Our purpose is to continue to engage our community in meaningful discussions to bring about racial harmony, deeper understanding, peace in the streets and intentional legislative reforms.
